SCIATICA

Sciatica is common, affecting 10% to 40% of the population. CuraLase approaches Sciatica by conducting a careful screening interview with a qualified practitioner. The screening will determine the correct protocol for patient care. This is an important step in making sure that the patient does not have an acute problem requiring urgent medical attention.

Sciatica is caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve as it exits the lumbar spine. Although the pathology is located in the back, the pain of Sciatica is often felt in the buttock and thigh. The pain can progress down the leg into the foot and weakness or numbness may occur in the affected leg and foot. Pain presents itself gradually for no apparent reason. Typically, symptoms are only on one side of the body.

Patients often experience pain relief during the first treatment and significant relief before the end of the protocol.
