In the United States, there 2 million people who suffer with Plantar Fasciitis. Active adults account for 83% of those who suffer. CuraLase approaches Plantar Fasciitis by conducting a careful screening interview with a qualified practitioner. The screening will determine the correct protocol for patient care. This is an important step in making sure that the patient does not have an acute problem requiring urgent medical attention.

Plantar Fasciitis is an inflammatory condition of the connective tissue which supports the arch of the foot. It results in pain in the heel and bottom of the foot. The pain is usually most severe with the first steps of the day or following a period of rest. Bending the foot and toes up towards the shin also frequently brings on pain. Other factors that may cause pain are, overuse from long periods of standing, increase in exercise and obesity. It becomes more common with age. While heel spurs are frequently found, it is believed if they have a role in exacerbating the condition.

Patients often experience pain relief during the first treatment and significant relief before the end of the protocol.
